Lahiru is a playful and kind boy who attends the Anamaduwa School in Sri Lanka. He lives with his parents and younger sister in a simple brick home with a tile roof. The family home is supplied with electricity, but water must be retrieved from a community-shared well. Lahirus’s household duty is to help his parents with the cleaning chores. He attends middle school where his favorite subject is math. In his free time, Lahiru enjoys playing cricket with his friends. His father is employed as a postman, while his mother stays home to care for the household. His parents struggle to provide adequate food and education for their children. They are grateful for the support Lahiru receives from the school.
